MedEthix’s CSR and Employee Immersion Program was designed as a holistic circle of care, with stations intentionally chosen to reflect the full spectrum of health needs across life stages. From the OB-GYNE station that underscored the importance of empowering women and safeguarding future generations, to pediatrics where preventive care for children revealed its life-changing impact, and geriatrics which honored the elderly by addressing chronic conditions with compassion, each station carried a distinct purpose. Ophthalmology highlighted the often-overlooked role of vision in education, work, and dignity, while the pharmacy ensured that consultations translated into healing through free medicine distribution. Behind the scenes, documentation and patient flow management gave employees a deeper appreciation for the systems that make healthcare accessible. Together, these experiences allowed volunteers to witness the challenges faced by families with limited access to care, making MedEthix’s advocacy tangible, personal, and deeply compassionate.

On June 16, 2025, MedEthix held its annual National Conference last June 16, 2025 at Aureo
Hotel & Resort in San Fernando, La Union. The event was a celebration of progress, a space to
reflect on shared challenges, and a reaffirmation of collective efforts to make healthcare more
accessible, ethical, and patient-centered across the country.

Opening the session, Ms Monaliza Salian, President & CEO of MedEthix Inc, underscored the
organization’s deep commitment to product quality and patient safety. She highlighted the
critical role of stringent processes in ensuring that every product meets uncompromising
standards. More than just compliance, she advocated for a culture of trust and shared
responsibility, always with the Filipino patient at the center.

Mr Norman Z Basa, Chief Commercial Officer of MedEthix Inc, echoed this dedication to service and emphasized the organization’s contribution to advancing women’s health nationwide. He reflected on the resilience and spirit of the teams on the ground and paid tribute to the frontliners whose dedication drives the company’s mission forward.

Expanding on the theme of growth with purpose, Mr. Marlon Dela Merced, Group Business Unit Head for Reproductive Health, shared the inspiring journey of the unit’s transformation over the years. What started as a compact initiative has now evolved into a more robust and multifaceted force, committed to addressing the diverse and growing needs of Filipino patients.

He noted that what began with a single unit has blossomed into four distinct yet interconnected divisions. Reproductive Medicines, General OB, Urology, and Pediatrics—each contributing to a more comprehensive and specialized model of care.

Urology Business Unit Head, Ms. Cathy Katigbak offered a glimpse into evolving strategies in prescription practice. She shared how shifts in engagement with healthcare professionals are helping improve access to vital treatments, strengthening both relationships and the delivery of patient-centered care.

The 2025 National Conference Plenary Session reinforced a powerful message: progress is not merely about numbers but about shared purpose, trust, and collaboration. Every division plays a crucial role in the broader healthcare ecosystem, and as the organization continues to evolve, its success will be defined by its commitment to quality, its people, and a unified vision for Filipino healthcare.

Our award-winning initiative focused on closing the knowledge gap around endometriosis, a condition that affects countless individuals yet remains underdiagnosed and misunderstood. It takes an average of 6.5 years for a proper diagnosis to be established. The delay in diagnosis is mainly due to misconceptions that chronic pelvic pain is merely normal dysmenorrhea. Many patients consult a gynecologist only when the pain becomes unbearable or when infertility becomes a concern. By creating platforms for education and building strong partnerships with healthcare providers, we’re making strides in turning silence into support.
